Shabbat and holiday meals:
Every Shabbat and holiday, we hold a festive meal for Jewish travelers and tourists. The meals take place at the Jewish Center - Chabad in Kampala, with the participation of dozens of community members and visitors from around the world.
It is challenging to capture in writing the warm atmosphere and the feeling of 'shevet achim gam yachad' that prevails here. In travelers' journals, you can find expressions like 'this is the most powerful experience I've had' or 'we sat at Chabad and joyfully sang Shabbat melodies, a shiver went through my body, it was amazing...' and countless other moving feedbacks that illustrate how impactful this powerful experience is for all the visitors during Shabbat and holidays at Chabad House Uganda.
It's an opportunity to discover how united we are, how much common ground we share, how we can rise above routine, and discover that there is a hidden soul within us; to realize that there is truly something special about our people and to draw natural Jewish pride for the continuation of the journey and the journey of life.
