Shabbat and Holiday Meals

Every Shabbat and holiday, we host a festive meal for Jewish travelers and tourists. The meals take place at the Jewish Center - Chabad in Kampala, with the participation of dozens of community members and visitors from around the world.

It's hard to capture in writing the heartwarming atmosphere and the feeling of "Shabbat brothers together" that pervades the place. In travelers' journals, you can find expressions like "this was the most powerful experience I've had" or "we sat at Chabad and joyfully sang Shabbat melodies, I felt uplifted, it was amazing..." and countless other touching feedbacks that emphasize how this intense experience impacts each of the many visitors during Shabbats and holidays at Chabad of Uganda.

It's an opportunity to discover how we are "one people"; how much we have in common; how we can transcend the routine and discover a hidden soul within us; to realize that there is something truly special about our people, and to draw upon a natural Jewish pride to continue the journey.
